Happy 2026 everyone! It is a new year and you know what that means. A new chance for us to get things done and an opportunity to finally excel at our New Year’s Resolutions. For many of us, 2026 will usher in new experiences and challenges. I for one am excited and looking forward to this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to celebrating the new year, a lot of people also celebrate the Chinese New Year. My neighboring community throws a large parade every year to celebrate. If you follow Chinese calendars, you know that this year, 2026, is the year of the Horse. The Fire horse, to be exact. The horse exhibits its energetic and dynamic nature. and the fire horse symbolizes vitality, perseverance, and speed. People born in the year of the horse are believed to possess these traits and others, like being warm-hearted, independent, and hardworking. Chinese New Year starts February 17th and its viewed as the year opportunity and optimism. .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With 2026 upon, its now the time to discuss New Year’s resolutions. That’s right, the yearly tradition of writing down goals that we want to accomplish this year. I tend to keep mine within reason. No more hitting the lottery, losing 30 pounds, or jet setting across the country. Realism is the key to these. So without further ado and much fanfare, let’s get to them, shall we.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2026 New Year’s Resolutions<\/strong>

1) Physical Fitness. I’m not just talking about losing weight. I’m talking about getting in shape. I want to climb stairs and hills without getting winded, tone my muscles, and improve my diet.\u00a0That sort of thing.

2) Clear Debt! This is an every year occurrence, however this year is a definite. I want to get out, travel, and try new experiences. These goals are hard to accomplish when one has debt hanging around their neck. I currently have 7 cards with balances. I want to cut that in half by year’s end.

3) Get Out More! I need to get out and start exploring my city and surrounding areas, mingle, make new friends. That starts with me getting up and out of the house which can be hard when I want to be lazy most weekends.

4) Business. In 2025, I started a small craft business that I have neglected, and it is time for me to pick it back up, especially since crafts are a passion of mine. I started a website and blog, but my busy schedule and lifestyle has made it harder to manage. No more of that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monthly updates on my resolutions progress will be posted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
