Happy New Years… Or is it?

Posted by Erica

Hello Blog readers,

If you reading this, then it is 2023. Whoo! We made it through 2022! Thank goodness. Now comes the New Year’s resolutions. Cue the groans. I used to hate these but I’ve been doing good over the last couple of years with them. So without further ado, let’s get started.

1. Exercise more. Yeah I said it. I have been eating and gaining weight left and right. I think about 15-20 pounds in 2022. Oh hell no. Time to lose that weight. I have a peloton bike and I really need to get back on it. I fell off (not the bike) the exercise track. But no more. Especially since I have a destination wedding to attend in 2023. Argh. I will keep you posted of the journey.

2. Read more. I stopped the CPA license track last year and I gained so much free time. I almost didn’t know what to do with myself. Welp I quickly found ways to fill the time. Reading, of course. In 2022, I completed a reading challenge by reading 42 books. In 2023, I want to read 50. I have the books for it. Bless you Barnes and Noble. Prince Harry’s Spared is definitely at the top of the list.

3. Blog more. I started a book blog and got behind because get this, I was reading too quickly. Haha. Yep. I want to get it caught up and provide my views on the books and other things. I mean I made quilts, bags, bookmarks, oven mitts. All deserving of a blog post.

4. Get out more. The pandemic was perfect for me. I didn’t have to leave the house. I didn’t have to put miles on my car, and.I got to sit in my house in my underwear, watching tv, and working. Perfect! But now I want to get back outside and travel more. I want to hit the mountains, the beach, everything. I want to see the state, the country, and the world and take photos while doing it. Let’s go!

5. Start my Etsy marketplace. I want to start selling my sewing items but I keep putting it out by talking myself out of it. No more. 2023 is going to be the year of Etsy. I already got the company name, Erica’s Crafty Creations.

6. Pay off credit card debt and cut back on using the cards. This is necessary. I was almost out during the summer of 2021, but I had to get a newish car and I went to spending again. I know, I know. I’m a bit ashamed but I’m human. But 2023 is the year to get out in front of it and get out of it.

7 Wonders of the World

I think 6 is manageable. Actually, I think 3 is manageable. With 6, I might drop off 1 or 2 but that means at least 3 will get done. That’s 50% so I can’t complain. I will update you guys throughout 2023.

Happy New Year blog readers. I hope your 2023 is full of happiness and peace.
